Container drayage is the movement of overseas containers domestically. A.L. offers both inland drayage service and port drayage service to most major ports and inland cities. The port drayage process on the coasts begins with a truck picking up an empty container (20’ or 40’) from a terminal. The empty container is then transported to the shipper to either drop the container or live load. The loaded container is returned back to the terminal and loaded onto a ship. The container drayage process for inland ramps is similar except the loaded container is taken to a rail yard and loaded onto a train headed to one of the coasts.
Dry Van is the most common type of freight transportation in the US. Dry van trailers, or box trailers, could be described simply as a box on wheels with doors in the back.
End dumps are a niche type of transportation. We are currently building our network to service customers throughout the United States. We have carriers that service specific local areas, as well as carriers operating regionally and nationally. Our carriers have both aluminum and steel dumps. We can transport scrap metal, limestone, grain, dirt, stone, rocks, etc. We can also source bottom dropping pneumatic trailers.

Intermodal describes the use of truck and rail to transport material from shipper to receiver. The process usually involves the container being trucked to the shipper to load, then trucked to a railyard. Once the train arrives at its destination, the container is moved via truck to the consignee.
